another positive story from liberal newspaper, The Guardian but this time regarding African Britain / Global Africa. The deadly rivalry between the Johnson’s Crew and the Burger Bar Boys is well known amongst most ‘in the hood’ regardless of city and spilled over to the mainstream in 2003 when teenagers Letisha Shakespeare and Charlene Ellis were slain in drive-by shootings outside a New Year’s Day party. well now, as captured in the documentary One Mile High, they seemed to have squashed the beef. I find this not only a massive step in the right direction, not only a shot in the arm of the misery of the usual African British news fare but confirmation of how the realisation and process of Knowledge of Self is crucial in rebuilding the damaged psyche’s and worth of African people. click the link to see what I mean
